About Sheri
A Therapist Who Has Seen What Becomes Possible
18 years of practice. A deep commitment to trauma-informed, strengths-based care. And a genuine belief that every person who walks through the door is capable of something different.
Background
My Story
I have been dedicated to the mental health field since 2008, and I still feel the weight and privilege of that work every single day. I earned my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University and trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — and over 18 years, I have had the honor of sitting with people through some of the most tender and difficult chapters of their lives.
I specialize in eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and depression, drawing on CBT, DBT, and EMDR — not as rigid frameworks, but as tools I shape around you. I believe deeply in a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach, because I have seen what becomes possible when someone finally feels truly seen and supported.
I also carry a deep passion for working with first responders and their families. The people who run toward what everyone else runs from deserve a space where they can finally put it down. It is an honor to be that space for them.
My intention is to support you and offer skills that can aid you in redefining your future. Whatever brought you here — I am glad you are.
"I am so often amazed by the resilience of humanity. It is my honor to sit with you, hear your story, and support you in reclaiming your innate wholeness."
— Sheri Robenstine, LPC
My Approach
How I Work
There is no single script that works for everyone. My approach is integrative — I draw from CBT, DBT, and EMDR and shape them around the person in front of me, not the other way around. I am trauma-informed in everything I do, which means I understand that what looks like a behavior problem is almost always a coping response to something deeper.
Strengths-Based
I start with what already works in you. Recovery and growth are built on your existing resilience — not on erasing who you are.
Trauma-Informed
Everything I do is filtered through an understanding of how trauma shapes the nervous system, behavior, and relationships.
Collaborative
You are the expert on your own life. I bring clinical skill; you bring your story. We build the path together.
Honest & Direct
I will not tell you what you want to hear. I will tell you what I genuinely believe will help — with warmth, and without judgment.
